Practical assignment: “Stages of testing”
1. The developers have fixed the cookie-purchase bug on the new pechenka site. Now you can really test the cookie! Use this chance: go through the flow and update your test case wherever the workflow has changed. This is called test case maintenance. Also add the checkout process after the cart to your test case. Note: this is the level 3 test case for buying cookies and candy — do not confuse it with the test design from the form in level 4.
2. Your task is to create a test plan for a single feature of the WIX editor. You can get the information about this feature from the test documentation. In this part of the assignment you need to study the test documentation thoroughly. Do not write or invent your own test documentation. Get familiar with the prototype, the mockups and the use cases of the Pages feature. Start structuring your document: make a copy of the RUP test plan template prepared by Chewbacca and start working on it. Keep the sample documents — you will keep working on them at the next level.
The minimum programme is the revision history and the related documents. Do not worry if something seems complicated and unclear — it is. We will go through everything in detail at the next level; for now, hold your breath and take your first dive into the test plan. If you do not understand what to do with the test plan or how to fill in these sections, do not hesitate: move on to the next level right after you finish the first task. I will let you in on a secret: at the next level we will continue working on the test plan.
